outside. No sandals are allowed;
socks and tennis shoes are required. The band department
will provide water
for the students during their breaks, but the students are responsible for
their own lunches and any other snacks or drinks they may want during band
camp. Remember to bring a healthy
lunch! While hamburgers taste good,
they are not the best things for you when you must continue to rehearse.
You MUST bring an insulated, 1-gallon thermos with your name on it. NO EXCEPTIONS. Don’t forget that money is
needed for drinks and snacks during breaks. Band Camp will conclude with a short performance in
the Dutchtown Gym at 7:00 PM on August 17th followed by a party
from 8 until 11. Chaperones are

owned instruments could be provided for certain instruments. If you check out an instrument, it is
YOUR responsibility to maintain its current condition and return it this
way when you return it. come on August 6th. Band Camp is a required week for students
who will be in the Dutchtown High Band Program, including the
Colorguard. The only exceptions to
this are those students who will be participating in certain fall sports
(football, volleyball, cheerleading etc) and those athletes are REQUIRED to
notify the band department of your sport immediately, including incoming
freshman. Please

Band Camp, we will be learning the fundamentals of marching band: marching
technique, school and halftime music, parading, cadences, routines, etc. The
starting dates for the Band Camp schedule vary for different members of the
band program. Please refer to the
calendar to see when you are expected to attend. What to bring All
you need to bring is your instrument (make sure that you have checked one
out by then if you don’t own one), the marching music given to you from
DTHS, a small 3x5 notebook, water cooler(NO Mugs), and a BAG LUNCH. Students should dress comfortably for summer
practice. You must wear a WHITE
t-shirt to practice each day. Sun
visors or hats, Extra supplies – You are responsible for any
additional supplies that you need to keep your instrument in proper playing
condition: reeds, lyres, mallets, valve oil, pencils, cleaning kits etc.
Woodwinds, you must have 3 working reeds at all times. Band Fees - Band fees will be collected in $50
increments 4 times a year for a total of $200. The 1st $50 is due during band camp. The installments will be due during the
following months: October, January, and March. Everyone must pay $100 of his or her band
fees. You may fundraise or pay the
remaining $100. ** All Checks can be made out to the Dutchtown Band** Medical and Travel Consent Forms are included with this
letter and will be due on or before Tuesday, August 9th. Old members do not need to submit a
medical form unless your parents have changed insurance policies or if
anything regarding your health has changed. Medical Consent forms MUST
be notarized. On August 9th, a
notary will be present in the band room from 6-8PM. You must sign in front of notary.

ATTACHED!!!*** A Mandatory Week: “Band Camp” Between July 30th and August 10th
at Freshman and officers are required to attend both weeks.
