The Dutchtown Sound Marching Band takes the field each fall with a dynamic, themed show performed at football games and competitive events. Known for their precision, spirit, and musical excellence, Dutchtown Sound proudly claimed first place at the 2023 Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands and earned the title of 5A State Runner-Up at the inaugural LMEA Marching Band Competition in 2024.

Colorguard is a vibrant visual ensemble that performs alongside the marching band in the fall, using flags, rifles, sabers, and dance to bring the music to life through dynamic movement and storytelling.

In the spring, our concert ensembles showcase the musical growth and talent of our students through formal performances. Symphonic Winds is our premier concert ensemble, featuring advanced musicians performing sophisticated and challenging repertoire. Symphonic Band is our intermediate ensemble, designed for students who have developed foundational skills and are ready to grow as musicians. Concert Band offers developing students the opportunity to refine their skills and perform quality pieces in a supportive setting. 

Winterguard is an indoor performance ensemble that combines elements of dance, flag work, and theatrical storytelling, set to recorded music. Winterguard competes independently in gymnasiums during the winter season, showcasing elaborate routines that highlight precision, artistry, and creativity.

Indoor Percussion is a high-energy, competitive ensemble that combines advanced drumming with theatrical performance, choreography, and visual effects. Performed indoors during the spring season, this ensemble challenges students to push their musical and physical boundaries while delivering exciting, tightly coordinated shows. 

In the spring, students have the option to join the Jazz Band. A voluntary ensemble, Jazz Band brings energy and style with performances that allow students to grow in improvisation and ensemble playing. This group performs at various community events, including the Ascension Chamber of Commerce holiday luncheon and at the Festival de la Prairie.

Band members have several opportunities to further their skills such as district and state honor band showcases as well as collegiate invitation events like LSU Stately Oaks and USM All South.
